You should plan to spend about an hour to an hour and one-half to go through the exhibit. There is so much to see that even though we have been there seven times we still find things that we had not noticed before. There is also an outdoor train ride that operates in good warmer weather.

Great roadside attraction - if you are into trains, or models or need to entertain small children, give this a go. Ride the train outside - short but relaxing!

I visited Northlandz as a teenager back in the late 90's and it was incredible. I recently brought my son to the museum. Some things have gone downhill. The real train ride outside was in good shape and enjoyed very much by the kids.

This outdoor train ride is a nice bonus. The conductor was really friendly and let everyone take photos of kids in the locomotive.

This 10 min train ride thru the woods was so nice and its worth the extra $2.75 but I would have liked to circle around a second time. Worth the visit, just don't expect the kids to be as excited as you are the entire time or leave them at home.

We took the grandchildren to see the model trains. It was fun but the displays were beginning to show the passage of time. The doll area needs attention! The kids loved the outdoor train ride!

We took our two grandsons ages 3 and almost two on a Sunday road trip to NorthlandZ. Immediately after starting to look at the model trains they kept asking for the big train. We went thru the model trains in about an hour. They seemed to enjoy it but the highlight for them was the actual train ride outside.

Had the pleasure of riding Northlandz Outdoor Train recently and I was absolutely blown away! It was an incredible experience that I won't soon forget. The scenery was stunning and it felt like I had stepped into a different universe! It gave all the comforting sights of the neighborhood. Definitely the best unwinding activity for anyone!

I recently visited Northlandz and had a great time. The outdoor train ride ticket was perfect for my family of train enthusiasts - both kids and adults! We had lots of fun exploring neighborhood, specially the Raritan River. The scenery was beautiful and it was a great way to witness a calming sunset.

This outdoor train is a complete 30 minutes of happiness and worth every penny. You can never get such a serene train riding experience anywhere. The tranquility of the area, the splashing sound of river just adds up to the overall train ride experience. A must try in NJ!

My family and I recently went to Northlandz for the Outdoor Train Ride and it was a blast! We had so much fun exploring all the different tracks with our kids. They especially loved the miniature trains and villages. The scenery was beautiful and it was the perfect way to spend a sunny afternoon. We would definitely recommend it!

My kids loved it! There were so many things to see and explore while the train moved through the park. The Christmas decorations really added to the festive atmosphere. I would definitely recommend this place for a fun family outing, especially on holidays!

Visited northlandz on Halloween this year & my god it was so good! Everywhere I looked there were pumpkins, cobwebs, and spiders, it was like being in a horror movie! The outdoor train passed through the spooky locales and thrilled both kids and adults alike. LOVED IT!

This is not your ritzy museum, supported by fundraisers and huge allotments of public money. Instead, this is quite an incredible display of what a person's enthusiasm for a "hobby" can lead to. You are walking through two interconnected floors of a person's life work. 8 miles of tracks surrounded by room after room of miniature landscapes. The amount of detail and creativity is astounding. We took our kids (5 and 2) on a cold afternoon and they loved it. To be honest I loved it. After I visited indoors, the outdoor train ride was a must to unwind and relax. The ride was totally worth the money! Will be back soon!

30 minutes of unlimited outdoor fun! A true attraction for kids. The scenery is simply enchanting. Spotted some wildlife too as we chug along. Loved the overall experience!

Loved the fact that it passed through a tunnel and a bridge. Got some real vintage vibes after a very long time.

Even though the ride should've been included in the indoor exhibited ticket but still worth those extra bucks. The whole family was happy that we tried it!
